Beaches

Lake Tahoe offers a variety of lovely beaches scattered all over its shores. Anywhere you go, you are guaranteed to have some fun under the sun. Just a note of warning, though parking is available in most lots and in some roadside spots, do not dare park where no parking sign exist unless you want to be towed out immediately.

Print Sand Harbor
Incline Village, NV 89402

Certainly the most beautiful beach at Lake Tahoe, complete with all the amenities needed for a truly unique beach experience. This place offers a wide variety of activities including boat launches and picnic areas. Elegant homes along the shore like the Wattel Mansion can also be found, including the home of one of California's former governors. The beach is the backdrop for the annual Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival that takes place annually when approaching the Labor Day. A parking fee of US$6 is collected from May - October and US$2 from November - April. The boat launching fee is US$12

Open Hours: 8am-9pm Monday - Sunday

Beach

Secret Harbor

2005 Highway 28, (2.5 miles south of Sand Harbor), Incline Village, NV 89451

This place is literally a secret harbor, since one needs to walk about a mile to reach the sea water. Paved parking lots in this area are available but restricted from the beach proper, and for a good cause. With the parking lot situated above the beach area, the hike down to the sea can never be considered as tiresome because of the solitude and beauty of the area. Secluding the beach areas are massive coves, enormous boulders and huge trees, making it a popular place for nude sunbathers. Dogs are welcome in the area and the beach is accessible for the whole year round, with or without proper swimming attire.

Open Hours: 8am-9pm Monday - Sunday

Ponderosa Ranch

100 Ponderosa Ranch Rd., Incline Village, NV 89451-9201

With a collection of antique automobiles, carriages, and farm equipment, this is the home of the "Bonanza" Western TV series.
